Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of Team Leaderboard — the website at teamleaderboard.com, the web app and the iPhone app. Team Leaderboard is operated by a small independent team in Toronto, Canada. By creating an account you agree to what follows.
The service is in beta
Team Leaderboard is early software. It is free to use while it is in beta, there is nothing to buy, and there are no paid plans today. Features will change, some will be rebuilt, and occasionally something will break. If we ever introduce paid plans, we will tell you well before anything you use starts costing money, and you will not be charged for anything without agreeing to it first.
The service is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
Accounts
You need an account to use the app. You must give accurate details, keep your password to yourself, and tell us promptly at [email protected] if you think someone else is using your account. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
Teams have owners and admins. If you invite someone to your team or grant them admin rights, you are responsible for that decision and for what those people can then see and do.
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a contract.
Acceptable use
Do not:
- Use the service to break the law, or to store data you have no right to store
- Try to access another team's data, or probe, scan or attack our systems
- Resell, rent or white-label the service without our written agreement
- Upload malware, or deliberately overload the service
- Copy, scrape or reverse engineer the app beyond what the law allows
Records in Team Leaderboard include client names and transaction details. Only enter information you are entitled to handle under your brokerage's rules and Canadian privacy law, and make sure the people on your team understand the same.
Your data is yours
Your team owns the deals, goals, commission records and other content it puts into Team Leaderboard. We do not claim ownership of it, we do not sell it, and we do not use it to train anything or to market to anyone. We use it to run the service for you — see the Privacy Policy for the detail.
You give us the permission we need to host, back up, transmit and display that content so the service can work.
You can export or delete your data, and you can delete your account in the app at any time.
Our software
We own Team Leaderboard — the app, its design, its code and its name. Nothing in these terms transfers that to you. You get a limited, non-exclusive, revocable right to use the service while your account is open.
Availability
We run Team Leaderboard on hosted infrastructure and we try to keep it up, but we do not promise any particular uptime, and we may take it offline for maintenance or ship a change that causes a problem. We are not liable for lost work or lost business caused by downtime. Keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose.
Limits on liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data or lost goodwill, arising from your use of Team Leaderboard.
Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you is limited to CAD $100, since the service is provided to you free of charge.
Team Leaderboard calculates commission from the figures and split rules you enter. It is a tracking tool, not accounting, tax or legal advice. Check your own numbers against your brokerage's statements before you rely on them.
Suspension and termination
You can stop using Team Leaderboard and delete your account whenever you like.
We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts other users or the service at risk, or is being used unlawfully. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will warn you first and give you a chance to export your data. If we ever shut the service down, we will give you at least 30 days' notice and a way to take your data with you.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will post the new version here with a new date and tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the change.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Disputes go to the courts of Ontario.
